Yesterday was one heck of an emotional roller coaster!  I was at Hooker’s class, and she told me how Mr. Brown sent out a mass email to UC’s staff, saying that he accepted a new job at Colorado.  Then fifth period came along, and he broke the news to everybody in the class.  Hearing it come from him was difficult, but his justifications is logically valid.  I couldn’t help but tear up a bit, especially knowing that we just had an amazing pops concert and it was gonna be his last one with us.  This music department has gone a long way from his arrival, and now he has to leave it all behind.  The open forum we had after his announcement was a much needed closure to many things.  And I gotta admit, the last line of Stevie’s little poem was a heartbreaker.  Thank you for everything Mr. Brown!

After we got back from Five Guys, we proceeded to the gym for senior awards night.  Congratulations to all those who were recognized!  I went in just expecting to get my CSF cord and certificate, and I got to see Camille, Daniela, Marlene, Megan, and all the other CSF kiddos there.

After school, Brandon and I went to Target to get Mr. Brown’s awesome gifts: tons of Twix in a whale box, Lindt truffle, a garden gnome, yoda, and some cookies and brownies. Marina was able to get two bouquets of flowers and even more twix. McDonald’s. While the concert was going on, we covered Mr. Brown’s office with sticky notes with nice and memorable messages. Woodwind Quintet did terrific! Cirque du Soleil: Séisouso, Alegría, & O. So proud. I think it was our best run to date too. We pulled it together and gave a great performance. Thanks a bunch Jake [flute/alto flute], Josh [oboe/cor anglais], Roxanne [clarinet/piano], and Aidan [horn]. + Jessica on violin Hahaha. I’m gonna miss this ensemble. Side note: gotta take a legit photo at banquet. kay Concert Band — Rent, Video Games Live, & Star Wars. Hands down the most tiring concert I’ve had. Sooooo exhausting, but worth every bit. Combined # — Wicked! Bittersweet. Fantastic performance tonight colorguard, choir, orchestra, band, woodwind quintet, and flute choir! Goodnight. Student leadership auditions tomorrow! G00d skills
